- Why God has a name in Islam?– also posted in General
Now (in this era) the word god is used for many things, including idols and people (prophet Jesus (pbuh), Mary (pbuh), Buddha… etc). Every religion claims to have the God on their side, and everyone claims to have the right God. Be it idol or human being.
What we Muslims say is, “Our God is not same as yours, our God is Allah”. This is said best in the Quran:
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.Say : O ye that reject Faith! I worship not that which ye worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your Way, and to me mine.
Surah: Al-Kafiroon (unbelievers)

- The Concept of Original Sin in Islam
As regards the 'original sin', Islam does not admit this theme. Its main concern is the 'Acquired Sin'. According to Islam 'sin' is neither like a hereditary disease that is transferred from a father to his son through reproductive system nor is sin like a rank or a title that can be passed from an older to a younger person of the family.

- The True Religion
The first thing that one should know and clearly understand about Islam is what the word Islam” itself means. The religion of Islam is not named after a person as in the case of Christianity which was named after Jesus Christ, Buddhism after Gautama Buddha, Confucianism after Confucius, and Marxism after Karl Marx. Nor was it named after a tribe like Judaism afterthe tribe of Judah and Hinduism after the Hindus. Islam is the true religion of “Allah” and as such, its name represents the central principle of Allah’s “God’s” religion; the total submission to the will of Allah “God”. read more »

- Who Is Allah?– also posted in Misconceptions, Question & Answers
Some of the biggest misconceptions that many non-Muslims have about Islam have to do with the word “Allah”. For various reasons, many people have come to believe that Muslims worship a different God than Christians and Jews. This is totally false, since “Allah” is simply the Arabic word for “God” - and there is only One God. Let there be no doubt - Muslims worship the God of Noah, Abraham, Moses, David and Jesus - peace be upon them all. read more »
