- How many of us will enter Jannah?
The answer is in the Quran:
“They are those who will be closest (to God).
In the gardens of bliss.
Many from the first generations.
Few from the later generations. Quran 56:11-14″And we all know that the first sign of the coming of the Akhirah (End of Time) was the prophethood of Muhammad sallallahu aleihi wassallam. And since then more than 1400 years had passed. So we are very very near to the end of times!
And as you can see, Allah SWT says in the Quran only few of the later generations will enter Paradise. So what are you doing to be one of those who will enter the Paradise? (think about it).

- The Findings of Scientific Research Relative to Keeping Dogs
Some lovers of the West in Muslim countries claim to be full of love and compassion for all living creatures and they wonder why Islam warns against this “best friend” of man. For their benefit, we quote here a lengthy excerpt from an article by the German scientist, Dr. Gerard Finstimer, (Translated from the German magazine Kosinos.)in which the author sheds light on the dangers to human health resulting from keeping dogs or coming in contact with them. He says:
The increasing interest shown by many people in recent times in keeping dogs as pets has compelled us to draw public attention to the dangers which result from this, especially because pet dogs are hugged and kissed and permitted to lick the hands of the young and the old, and what is worse, to lick the plates and utensils which are used by human beings for eating and drinking.
Besides being unhygienic and uncouth, this practice is bad manners and abhorrent to good taste. However, we are not concerned with such matters. leaving them to be addressed by teachers of etiquette and good taste.
Rather this article is intended to present some scientific observations.
From the medical point of view, which is our main concern here, the hazards to human health and life from keeping and playing with dogs are not to be ignored. Many people have paid a high price for their ignorance, as the tapeworm carried by dogs is a cause of chronic disease, sometimes resulting in death. read more »

- Barakah Husein Obama

Every Muslim who is living in a non-Muslim land, particularly in the West, should always be concerned with their children and children’s children. How will they be? What religion will they follow, once I am long gone?
It’s for this reason that some scholars deem it haram to live in a non-Muslim land. Unless you are there for a temporary reason e.g to study, to make dawah etc. But if you are there to live among the non-Muslims, while there are so many Muslim countries that you can relocate to, then it’s haram to stay in that country.
It’s my personal opinion that, the reason for scholars to deem it haram may be, because your children or grandchildren will end up converting to other religion. Just like Barack Obama, whose father is Hussein, was a Kenyan Muslim who, according to Obama, lived in a village with a lot of other Muslims but apparently didn’t practice himself. Therefore, it’s even more dangerous if the Muslim who live in the non-Muslim country do not practice Islam. Because when the parents do not practice, the children will most probably follow their footsteps.
Every parent wants their children to make dua for them after they pass away. However for them to make dua for you, you need to upbring them properly and you need to give them an Islamic environment. It’s only then that they will be able to practice their religion and be a pious Muslim (Inshallah).

- Imam Anwar al-Awlaki is Released from Prison

Our beloved brother and great scholar of Islam Imam Anwar al-Awlaki had been released from prison, where he was held for no reason without charges for one and half years, in Yemen. He was released on 12th December 2007.
He sent message to all brothers and sisters through email:
“The time I spent in detention was a great blessing from Allah. They were moments of contemplation and study which I was greatly in need of. Alhamdulillah, Allah has blessed me during that time of solitude with tranquility and peace to the extent that at most of the time I was preferring detention over freedom. Now that I am free I ask Allah to enable me to thank Him for his blessings.
“I am greatly moved to know that many of my brothers and sisters have been asking about my situation and praying for my release. I thank them all. May Allah reward all of you with Paradise.”
There is an interview with him at muslimmatters too.
Inshallah, we can expect more great lectures from Imam Awlaki. You can find his previous lectures here.

- Why God has a name in Islam?– also posted in About Islam
Now (in this era) the word god is used for many things, including idols and people (prophet Jesus (pbuh), Mary (pbuh), Buddha… etc). Every religion claims to have the God on their side, and everyone claims to have the right God. Be it idol or human being.
What we Muslims say is, “Our God is not same as yours, our God is Allah”. This is said best in the Quran:
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful.Say : O ye that reject Faith! I worship not that which ye worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship, Nor will ye worship that which I worship. To you be your Way, and to me mine.
Surah: Al-Kafiroon (unbelievers)
